Noosa, one of the most popular longboarding surf festival is scheduled to be held in March 2019. Although its purely a surfing event, people who are not into surfing too never miss to join in the rivalry of this surf festival. The event runs throughout an entire fun-filled week with art exhibitions, movies and live bands playing around the town. Ladies, do not miss this, because the coolest dudes are partying and participate in surfing. Even dogs on surfboards come and show off, which is epic to watch for everyone!

The eager surfing fans gather as early as 6.30 to 7 am to watch the amateur and professional surfers compete with one another. The events are scheduled throughout the day until 5 p.m.

Who can participate
It is not only for Australians, but over 800 entrants from 15 countries join this biggest riding event every year.
It doesn’t have to be a pro to take part in this event, even juniors or seniors can join the competition. Various surfing styles including paddleboarding, bodyboarding, longboarding, finless and even different skill levels for each age group, therefore its an event for all ages.

History:

Noosa had its first surfing competition in 1992 organized by the members of Noosa Malibu Club. It was an amateur surfing competition called Noosa Malibu Classic where club members invited their friends to surf. The competition was taken to a higher level with the introduction of a professional division and along with that the name was changed to Noosa Festival of Surfing in 1998. Today, The Noosa Festival of Surfing is an official Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Longboard rated event.
