Sydney’s biggest and most awaited game, the Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge  will be held on Friday October 12 and Saturday October 13th2018.

World Time Attack Challenge (WTAC) is a race against the clock. Australian as well as international top drivers participate in this game to win the trophy for the fastest racing team. Sydney Motorsport Park receives large crowds of racing fans annually to watch this thrilling event to witness the fastest time attack teams.  It is an event loved by both young and old car enthusiasts.

Game History:

The first Superlap Australia event was organized by Ian Baker in 2008 after competing with Japan’s Hi Octane Racing team in famous Tsukuba Circuit. Apparently, Ian has been very impressed with the time attack event in Japan that he  decided to introduce the sport to Australia. Following that, the very first World Time Attack Challenge was held in 2010 which was proved to be a huge success.  The top drivers of Australia  raced with the international teams of USA and Japan. Since then it has been one of the most popular annual events in Sydney.

For spectators: 
Gates will be open by 8:00 am. Get your tickets as early as possible to avoid the rush and parking problems.
There will be a giant screen showing the live action however the following spots will be ideal for best viewing:

1. Pit Garage Roof,
2. The Grandstand,
3. Amaando Corner (Turn 1) Building Roof,
4. Turn 11 (Great place
to watch the cars running wide when pushing
hard.),
5. Turns 3, 4 and 5 (Perfect for taking photos and video during the morning light)
Flying 500: Pit Garage Roof or the Grandstand will give you an uninterrupted view of the main straight all the way down to Turn 1.
Superlap Shootout: The grandstand or the pit building roof.

Event Attractions:

    • INTERNATIONAL DRIFTING CUP :  The racing track is transformed for drifting when not used for games.  You are guaranteed to experience the most thrilling moments when the top drivers race against each other head on.
    • Motorsport Legends: A unique opportunity to see the classic cars of 70s to 90s that shaped Australian history.
    • The Flying 500 : The full noise, top speed competition which selects the car with the fastest recorded speed on the course over the two days.

There is also Trader Alley exhibiting the coolest cars. There is a plethora of automotive stuff to impress all car enthusiasts. Amidst all this auto buzz you can also head over to take a peek at Miss Time Attack content taking place. So come with your friends and family as there is something for everyone at the Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge.

The Winner of the Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge Sydney 2017 Pro Class is Tim Slade in the MCA Suspension Nissan Silvia S13.
